Daniel de Ontanon is the Chief Executive Officer of INSIGNEO.

Daniel, 45, oversees the strategic direction of INSIGNEO the Miami-based Independent Broker-dealer and Investment Advisor. With over $8 billion in assets under management, more than 120 financial advisors and 60 employees, INSIGNEO is one of the largest Independent Wealth Management firms catering primarily to international advisors, clients, and institutions.

Daniel joined INSIGNEO as CEO in April 2018 and has had a great 23-year career in brokerage and wealth management. Prior to joining INSIGNEO, Daniel worked at Citibank for 11 years. Initially as President of Citi International Financial Services, Citi’s Broker/Dealer for Latin America Citigold Channel; later as Head of Sales for International Personal Banking and finally as Head of Investments for Citi Private Bank Americas and for Citi Private Bank LatAm and as President of Citi Private Advisory in New York. In these roles, Daniel led hundreds of professionals serving the investments needs of Affluent, High-Net-Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients and advised some of the wealthiest families in the Region.

From 2005 until 2006 Daniel led the Retail Wealth Management Operations for Popular Securities the wealth management arm for Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.

Between 2002 and 2005 Daniel was the Sales Manager for UBS Paine-Webber and UBS International Downtown Miami Branch.

Prior to joining UBS-I, Daniel was an International Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in Coral Gables Florida.

Daniel spend the first 5 years of his career working in brokerage operations for Dean Witter, Santander Securities and Doral Securities in Puerto Rico.

A native of Spain, but raised in America since he was 9 years old, Daniel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Puerto Rico. He is a financial markets and sports enthusiast and the proud father of five great children.

Daniel holds FINRA Series 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 23, 31, 63 and 65
